                                        Agricultural Territory

Quebec's agricultural territories are mostly concentrated near the bottom in reason of the weather and terrain that is in that area such as good soil for the plants to grow and the weather to help them as well. even though Quebec is big only 2% of its vast area is agricultural ready which takes over 1 700 000 km over Quebec.

Quebec is mostly good for farming thanks to its soil which is also why their isn't a huge agricultural terrain because of the subarctic terrain up north. But mostly it is thanks to the soil that farming in Quebec is so successful. Though the soil down south is perfect for farming the north such as Hudson bay isn't as suitable because of its sub arctic temperatures which freezes the soil and makes it bad for farming plus even if you would be able to set a farm the temperatures would kill everything you would plant.

But with urbanization we are losing agricultural heritage, luckily in 1970 Quebec intervened by creating agricultural zones.

in 2003 9.7 million tons of merchandise was carried by 3,886 cargo ships traveled through the st Lawrence seaway. the income that followed came to the 90 millions per annum.
